Sunderland boss Steve Bruce says Fraizer Campbell is displaying England form.
The 22-year-old has scored six goals in pre-season to be in contention to star alongside fellow England hopeful Darren Bent.
"Fraizer has been sensational for us pre-season. He's come back from the summer break and looks a million dollars," Bruce said.
"As for England, why not? Why not go with up-and-coming young talent?
"We knew when we bought him he was still a bit raw, but he's quick, strong and looks very good already.
"The England manager should have a look at him."
