Sunderland boss Steve Bruce isn't surprised by this summer's low key transfer market.
The current transfer window has been one of the quietest on record so far and the Sunderland chief isn't in the least surprised.
"It's a reflection on the rest of the world too," he explained to safc.com. "There has been a worldwide recession. Banks, for instance, must play a big part.
"There's been a bit of a reality check and let's be fair, [the game] needed it. There's not a lot been done so far and I think there's some common sense coming into it.
"Inflated prices might be a thing of the past."
