Sunderland boss Steve Bruce believes Manchester City counterpart Roberto Mancini should be nervous about his job.
Bruce, who faces Mancini's big-spending City today, fears the Italian may not get be given the time to build a title-winning side.
Bruce said: "Mancini will need years. I don't think you can do it in just one or two years.
"You have to be instant and hit the ground running, otherwise you're in trouble. Mancini will need to win things, finish in the top four and be in the Champions League. Anything less is failure. They spent all that money and, don't forget, they're not there yet because they finished fifth. You can't buy it, but money gives you a chance."
Bruce added: "Certainly Mark Hughes would say he wasn't given enough time.
"But, then again, was he their man? I think the difference is that Mancini is their man."
