Sunderland boss Bruce happy to bed down Campbell, Da Silva slowly

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is happy to bed in slowly new signings Fraizer Campbell and Paulo da Silva.

"Fraizer will join us on the Monday after we get back from Amsterdam," he told safc.com.

"As a young player, it's vitally important that he rests, physically and mentally. He has had a busy summer and we'll welcome him back to the training ground when we return from Holland."

Meanwhile, fellow new signing Da Silva is laying plans for his move to the north east.

The 29-year-old is currently back in South America to finalise immigration paperwork before he jets back to the UK.

"Paulo's in Mexico at the moment," Bruce explained. "As soon as they stamp his work permit, he'll be back here as soon as he can."
