Tottenham have intensified talks with Stuttgart for defender Serdar Tasci.
The Sun says White Hart Lane boss Harry Redknapp made a failed bid for the Stuttgart centre-back last summer.
He has since kept close tabs on Tasci, 24, and Spurs have been in contact with the player's advisors.
Tasci is rated at £12million and has caught the eye of other Premier League clubs, with Juventus and Lazio also keen.
Born in Germany to Turkish parents, Tasci fancies a move after his club's disappointing 12th-place Bundesliga finish.
His agent Maurizio Gaudino said: "Tottenham and two other English clubs are keen on Serdar.
"No discussions are yet under way, but it's down to the interested clubs to speak with Stuttgart and myself."
