Stuttgart defender Mavropanos: I don't know if I'll return to Arsenal

Arsenal defender Dino Mavropanos is unsure of his future with VfB Stuttgart.

The newly-capped Greece international has been outstanding for VfB Stuttgart during his season-long loan. However, the deal does not carry a permanent option.

While accepting they would not be able to but Mavropanos outright, VfB Stuttgart football director Sven Mislintat, formerly Arsenal chief scout, has made it no secret he wishes to keep hold of Mavropanos for another season.

But quoted by BILD via Sport-Express, the youngster said, "I don't know yet if I'll return to Arsenal.

"Things change very quickly in football. I have another two months at Stuttgart. I can still stay in Germany next year. However, concrete talks about the future can be conducted after negotiations with Arsenal."

Mavropanos has a deal with the Gunners to 2023. With VfB Stuttgart this season, the 23 year-old has managed 18 appearances after shaking off an injury-plagued first-half of the campaign in the Bundesliga.

The defender has been on the books at Arsenal since 2020, having been snapped up from Greek minnows PAS Giannina. He spent last season on-loan with FC Nurnberg in Germany.
