Stuttgart are interested in Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss.
Slovakia international Weiss, who spent part of last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and is contracted with City until June 2012, impressed the German club while on international duty at the World Cup this summer.
And Stuttgart are keen to offset the recent departure of Germany midfielder Sami Khedira to Real Madrid by securing 20-year-old Weiss' signature.
"It is a fact we are looking at the player," Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic told Deutsche Presseagentur.
Reports in the Stuttgarter Zeitung suggest the capture of Weiss is imminent, meaning he could become Stuttgart's third signing in five days following the arrival of Philipp Degen on loan from Liverpool and Johan Audel from Valencia.
