Manchester City are set to confirm a new five-year contract for centre-back John Stones.

The new deal marks a remarkable turnaround for Stones, who looked on his way out of the club last summer.

But he stayed, fought for his place, became first choice next to Ruben Diaz, and is now committing his long term future to the club.

According to The Athletic, Stones has put pen to paper on the new deal, which includes a hefty pay-rise.

Stones' deal will run until 2026, while he is set to earn £250,000-per-week over the course of the contract.
