Danny Higginbotham admits Ipswich Town players are letting down Paul Jewell.

Jewell's job is now hanging by a thread.

And on-loan Stoke defender Higginbotham said: "I feel sorry for him because he puts us on the pitch. He does his best but there comes a time when a manager has to transfer responsibility to the players.

"Paul Jewell was one of the main reasons I came here and I've got nothing but respect for him."
