Stoke City striker James Beattie says his inconsistent form has been due to niggling injury.
He is working his way back to full fitness and believes he should be able to return to top form after a period of rest during the international break.
"The main aim at the moment is to get fit and stay fit, and if I do that I know I will score goals and perform well," Beattie told Sky Sports News.
"I am quite irritated but it is one of those things and hopefully with the two-week break we have now I can shake them off and go again."
