Stoke City starlet Tyrese Campbell has said he's ready for a first-team shot.
The 18-year-old capped off a tremendous week, in which he trained with Paul Lambert's squad, with a hat-trick against Fulham in the U23's 4-1 win over Fulham.
He said: "It's nice to see your name in the headlines but I'm trying not to pay too much attention to it, just trying to carry on doing what I do and score goals, work hard and try to develop and push on towards that first team.
"This year more than any it feels like I've improved a lot. I've worked on my game hard in training and it feels like I'm getting the rewards.
"The messages from fans are nice to read if I'm honest. It's nice that fans are noticing and recognising what I'm doing with the under-23s. I'm doing all I can and I'll carry on.
"I feel like I'm ready for the challenge. That's why I moved to Stoke really, I wanted that challenge and to be able to push myself.
"I had seen a better pathway than perhaps at other clubs and thought that was the opportunity I wanted, to be testing myself against first team players, big players, to get used to it as quickly as I can, and just learn from them."
