Stoke City are waiting on a UK work permit being granted to Juan Agudelo.
The 20-year-old will become a Stoke player in January, should the relevant permit be granted at a hearing which is set to happen next month.
Agudelo is set to move to the Britannia Stadium on a free transfer as his contract with New England Revolution, where he has scored seven in 14 games, comes to an end.
"He can't wait to come over here and start playing," agent Gary Mellor, his representative in England, told the Stoke Sentinel.
"Hopefully, he can show everyone his potential because he can be an exciting player and one the fans will like.
"He can play up top and is a confident lad, one who can score some very good goals."
