Lens striker Aruna Dindane is the subject of a £3.5 million offer from Stoke City.
The Daily Mail says manager Tony Pulis originally attempted to sign the 28-year-old Ivory Coast star in January but the move broke down.
Now Pulis has made contact with the French club again in hope of sorting out a deal for Dindane, who has only one-year left on his deal.
The forward would be Stoke's first signing of a tough summer in the transfer market.
