Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed that he expects his search for a striker to go down to the last minutes of the transfer window.
The Potters were strongly linked with a move for West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino this summer but have thus far failed to reach an agreement with the Baggies.
Reports suggest that a £20million agreement for Berahino is on the cards but still Hughes suggests there is work to be done before Stoke sign a new attacker.
"We are hopeful," said Hughes.
"We are in the market like everyone else. We haven't been able to get as many over the line as we would have hoped at this point but there has been a lot of work going on in the background.
"Some have gone away and some have come back. That is how the window develops.
"It may resolve itself prior to the last day, but it could go to the last minutes."
