Stoke City are putting the finishing touches on a club record deal for Giannelli Imbula.

Recent reports suggest that the Potters are simply finalising an £18million deal for the Porto midfielder.

Mark Hughes is determined to bring in a quality defensive midfielder to fill the void left by Steven Nzonzi in the summer and former Guingamp and Marseille man Imbula looks to be that man.

The deal is expected to be completed before tonight's transfer deadline.
