Stoke to send Shea to Barnsley

Stoke City will reportedly send American winger Brek Shea on loan to Championship club Barnsley.

ESPN suggests that the 23-year old USA international, who has made just three appearances for the Potters this season, will head to Oakwell for the rest of the 2013/14 season.

Shea has struggled with foot and knee problems since moving from FC Dallas in January 2013 and is keen to get regular game time ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

Barnsley, managed by Danny Wilson, currently sit at the foot of the English second tier table which will prompt some January transfer action for the south Yorkshire club.
