Stoke rival Brighton for Celtic striker Dembele after scouting check

Stoke City are lining up a bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

The Sun says the Potters watched Dembele in Saturday's Old Firm draw — as Celtic get braced for bids.

Brighton are expected to table a £20 million offer this week after Chris Hughton made the Hoops ace his No 1 target.

But Stoke boss Mark Hughes sent head scout Lee Maybury to run the rule over Dembele against Rangers.

The Potters gaffer is desperate for a striker and has been linked with Liverpool duo Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings.

But Dembele is being tracked by several Premier League clubs and Hughes asked his top spy to take a closer look.

The Welshman is under pressure after a poor start to the season and needs fresh firepower for his goal-shy side.
