Stoke players have incentive of next week off

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has promised his players 'a well-earned rest' next week following a gruelling run of fixtures. Wednesday sees the Potters pitched against Manchester City in pursuit of a quarter-final place in the cup and Saturday brings title-chasing Arsenal to the Britannia Stadium for a crunch encounter in the league.

Pulis has called upon his side to raise their game again heading into two vital matches, but has no complaints at the demands currently being placed on his troops.

"The big games have been coming thick and fast recently, but that's the way it goes," he said.

"The more successful you are, the more games you have to play.

"We've two massive games against two top, top sides over the next few days, and it's fantastic we are in this position to be playing games of this importance.

"The players have done outstandingly well these past two months and the confidence has grown as we've gone along.

"We've just got to make sure we keep it going for the next couple of games, and then they can have a well-earned rest next week."
