Stoke player arrested on motoring offence charges

Stoke have confirmed Ricardo Fuller has been arrested by police following alleged motoring offences near to the club's training ground. In a brief statement the club said: "The club can confirm that striker Ricardo Fuller has this morning been arrested by Staffordshire Police for a motoring offence.

"We will be making no further comment at this time."

Supt Bernie O'Reilly, of Stoke-on-Trent police division, told the Sentinel: "At about 9.30am this morning in Riverside Road, Trent Vale, a 29-year-old man driving a vehicle was stopped by officers.

"As a result of their enquiries, his vehicle was seized and he was arrested for driving licence and vehicle insurance offences and taken to Northern Area Custody Facility where he will be interviewed today."
