Stoke City are believed to be alerted to the fact that Stefan Kiessling is considering a move away from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 31-year-old striker has been with Leverkusen since 2006 but has started just nine times in the Bundesliga this season, falling behind the in-form Javier Hernandez in the pecking order.
Following the weekend's 5-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach, in which Kiessling scored twice, the veteran hinted that perhaps he may be pondering a BayArena exit.
"I've got to be honest and say we'll have to see," he told Sky Sport Deutschland.
"I'll speak to the bosses and see what the best solution is. I've been here nearly 10 years and always played and when you sit on the bench so often, then it does get on your nerves."
Liverpool have previously been linked with Kiessling but it appears as though Stoke are the keenest as they look to boost their goalscoring exploits having scored just 13 in 16 outings so far this term.
