Stoke City admit Eidur Gudjohnsen is some way from making a debut.

Summer signing Gudjohnsen is working hard on dropping his weight after missing preseason.

Potters No2 Dave Kemp said: "Eidur is still catching up with his fitness, but he is getting there and I'm as excited as the fans are about seeing him play.

"His quality in training has been there for all to see."
