Stoke move for released Fulham defender Hangeland

Stoke City are moving for released Fulham captain Brede Hangeland.

A deal for the Norway international could be struck this week after his former Cottagers teammate Steve Sidwell completed his move to the Brit yesterday.

Like Sidwell, Hangeland was shown the door by Fulham following their relegation last season.

Crystal Palace and QPR are also keen, though Stoke are regarded as favourites for the centre-half's signature.
