Stoke City are ready to nab free agent Mahamadou Diarra.

Diarra, 30, is at Monaco but wants out after relegation.

A source close to the player told The Sun: "Mahamadou likes the sound of playing in the Europa League after having a very bad experience with Monaco."

Diarra said: "I need a club where I can be its leader on the field."
