Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula sees his international future with France.

DR Congo have given up on persuading Imbula, now on-loan with Toulouse, to play for their national team... with a hint the midfielder still has France ambitions.

Constant Omari, the DR Congo Football Federation president, told Foot Mercato: "Imbula does not want to come, we will not force him. I'm not here to chase after him.

"This is not the first time he refuses and I take note: people come to the squad if they are motivated.

"Giannelli Imbula hopes maybe to be called by Didier Deschamps, it's his right. Me, I give up."
