Stoke midfielder Delap delighted with FA Cup impact

Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap was pleased to make an impact on their FA Cup draw at Manchester City.

City, having cashed in on Ryan Shawcross's 11th-minute cock-up to go ahead through Shaun Wright-Phillips, were undone by sub Delap's laser-like throw-in.

The ball flew over a sea of blue shirts and Ricardo Fuller planted home his 57th-minute header .

Delap has unhinged York and Arsenal in the Cup with his throws this season. He said: "The gaffer has changed it round in recent weeks with us having so many games to play.

"He should probably just bring me back in for the Cup games!"

But he played down his long-throw weapon .

He said: "If I am playing we use it. If not, we don't. It is the same as if Liam Lawrence plays because his delivery from set-plays is brilliant. My throw is just another set-piece ."
