Stoke City's January signing Badou Ndiaye knows Galatasaray fans are upset with him.

There was anger from passionate supporters on the terraces when he departed – but he hopes such a show of emotion is a sign he had been doing all right.

He said: “I can understand why they would be angry about a player leaving, even if they don't know all the reasons. It's just one version of the story that they have but that's not the important thing at the moment.

“The most important thing is that I gave everything for that club and I think that's why they love me. I never wore any jersey and cheated by not working hard. I always try to do my best and win games. That's why fans love any player.

“I'm still getting support from fans at old clubs and that means a lot."
