Stoke City have bid for Dundee United defender Harry Souttar.

The Dundee Courier says they've failed with a £250,000 offer for Dundee United's 17 year-old defender Souttar.

United are now waiting to see if Stoke pursue their interest in the club's young protégé.

The paper suggests United wouldn't be averse to selling at the right price so they can re-invest the proceeds into more experienced players.
