Stoke City hope to kickoff the new season with their new training facilities in place.

Director Richard Smith has confirmed that the development of the club's training ground is on schedule and should be complete by the start of the season in August.

"We're progressing well since we had the cold winter weather earlier in the year," he said. "It's mainly the finishing inside the building that needs to be done.

"We plan to have an official opening later on in the year."
