Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is believed to be close to joining Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues are at the front of the pack to land the Bosnia-Herzegovina international who has just a year to run on his current deal at the Britannia Stadium.

Begovic, 28, is keen to leave the Potters for a bigger club and it appears as though he will make his next home at Stamford Bridge once Petr Cech leaves for Arsenal.

Aston Villa saw a bid for Begovic rejected on Friday, placing Premier League champions Chelsea in pole position.
