Stoke City are reportedly set to make a move for West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino.
According to The Telegraph, the Potters are prepared to pay £20million for the 22-year-old striker who continues to be monitored by Tottenham.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes is intent on making a move for Berahino but concedes that Spurs may still win the race for the talented yet frustrating forward if it came down to a choice between the two clubs.
"By all accounts Spurs will always have an interest in quite a few players we are interested in," he said ahead of Monday night's clash between the two clubs.
"There are players out there who you express an interest in - but because they are good players there will always be other teams involved.
"If we're being realistic, if a player has a choice of Spurs or Stoke, then we could pitch up and make a good case for them to come here.
"But they may feel Spurs is a more attractive option and we have to accept that."
