The future of Stoke City striker Craig Beattie is in doubt after a dressing-room row with manager Tony Pulis.
The club is still investigating the incident but it is believed that there were blows exchanged following the 2-0 loss to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
It has been reported that Pulis wanted the players to come in early Monday morning for an extra training session but Beattie objected because the players had organised their Christmas party for Sunday night.
When the boss didn't back down, the pair allegedly unleashed by throwing punches and had to be broken up by Stoke officials.
An unnamed Stoke player described the incident further, saying: "The manager had handed out printed sheets for this week's programme and Monday was on there.
"Beattie was infuriated, came into another part of the dressing room where he didn't think the manager could hear him, and made a remark.
"But the manager had just got out of the shower, heard what was said and it went off."
The incident is sure to put an enormous question mark over the future of Beattie as a Potter after joining the club from Sheffield United last January.
