Stoke face stiff competition for Shakhtar striker Eduardo

Stoke City face stiff competition for off contract Shakhtar Donetsk striker Eduardo.

The former Arsenal striker has been linked with the Potters but they face competition for his signature from Turkish side Besiktas, Fenerbache and Trabzonspor, says to the Daily Star.

Eduardo was named in the Croatia squad for the World Cup but failed to start any of their three group games after falling behind former Potters target Ivica Olic, Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic and Hull City striker Nikica Jelavic in the pecking order.

The Brazilian-born striker scored seven times in 41 appearances for Arsene Wenger's men but would be available on a free transfer after his release by Ukrainian side Shakhtar.
