Stoke City are not planning to make a move for Manchester United attacker Wayne Rooney, according to club sources.
Rooney is widely expected to end his successful stay at Manchester United this summer and the 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Everton as well as China over the past few months.
Recently though, reports have been gathering steam claiming that even Stoke City are interested in signing Rooney and bookmakers Betfred reported that "significant bets" had been placed in Liverpool predicting that the striker will be moving to the bet365 Stadium, with odds slashed from 22/1 to 8/1.
However, The Sentinel have revealed that the Potters are not interested in making a swoop for Rooney and the United captain is unlikely to follow close friend Darren Fletcher to Staffordshire.
