Stoke defender Erik Pieters agrees terms with Burnley

Stoke City defender Erik Pieters has agreed terms with Burnley.

The Mirror says Pieters has agreed to join Burnley and become Sean Dyche's first summer signing.

Burnley have agreed a deal with Stoke for the Potters outcast, who is not part of Nathan Jones' first-team plans after spending the second half of last season on loan at Amiens.

Amiens wanted to re-sign Pieters, while there was also interest from clubs in his native Holland, but he has opted to move to Turf Moor because Burnley can offer him Premier League football.

Pieters, 30, spent six years at the bet365 Stadium, and switching to Burnley means he does not have to uproot his family from the North West.
