Stoke City defender Geoff Cameron is facing surgery.
Cameron will have surgery today after finally giving up the fight to overcome a hernia problem.
The USA international has been troubled with the problem since the final few games of last season.
Potters No2 Mark Bowen said: "It's been troubling him for a while. He started feeling it last season, then obviously he went to the World Cup.
"But he came back still feeling a bit sore and we felt the time had come for him to get it done."
