Stoke City are moving closer to a £13million deal for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.
The Wales international has held talks with Potters boss Mark Hughes regarding a summer shift to the Britannia Stadium and it appears that scenario could be a distinct possibility.
Allen's former club Swansea City have shown plenty of interest with chairman Huw Jenkins revealing on Friday that they are keen, but according to a report in The Sun, there has been no follow-up bid by the Swans.
It is understood that Stoke remain the frontrunners to sign the 26-year-old and will likely complete a deal in the coming days provided Swansea to do not complicate things by offering the aforementioned fee.
