Stoke claim mistaken identity over Pieters yellow card

Stoke City are waiting to find out if a yellow card shown to Erik Pieters on Saturday will be rescinded or transferred due to a possible case of mistaken identity.

Pieters was booked in Stoke's 2-2 clash with Leicester at the bet365 Stadium for a foul he claims he did not commit.

Speaking after the game, the Dutch left-back was adamant it had been his team-mate Bruno Martins Indi who had given away a foul for which a yellow card was given.

"I don't know if it was a red card for Jamie Vardy, yes or no, but one thing is clear, it was not a yellow for me," said Pieters.

"I wasn't even close to this guy. I don't know what they're going to do with that but it was not a yellow card for me."
