Stoke City chief Tony Scholes says they're pleased with their early summer market work.
Scholes is sure the squad has already received a lift from the arrivals this summer of Phil Bardsley, Steve Sidwell, Mame Biram Diouf and Dionatan Teixeira.
He told The Sentinel: "We've managed to do four good deals for four good players. When the squad returns for training they will be joined by four good new players.
"I think the existing players will get a boost from that as well, there has already been a very positive response. It's important we keep looking to improve."
