Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is confident the performances of the club can continue to please the heightened expectations of the fans.
After being promoted following a brilliant 2007/08 season in the Championship, the Potters remained in the top flight with a battling effort last season.
Coates knows it will be tough but is positive about the club's future.
"We will try to meet those expectations and will be doing our very best to have another season," Coates said in The Sentinel.
"We have had two terrific seasons and our supporters have been pleased with our progress.
"But they are also realistic and know how well we have done so far. They have been brilliant with us and I am sure that will continue next season."
