Stoke City boss Gary Rowett admits he's interested in Wolves striker Benik Afobe.

Wolves have just made Afobe's loan from Bournemouth permanent.

Although Rowett refused to be drawn on specific targets, he made clear the boxes potential recruits needed to tick.

Speaking at his unveiling, Rowett said: “When you look at some of the players you are linked with – and, at this stage of the summer, I could look at 100 – probably five are true, the others will be agent-led.

"It's the nature of the business but the standard of some of the players we have been linked with are the standard we want to bring to the club.

“Goals were an issue last season so, of course, that is something we want to rectify."
