Stoke City boss Tony Pulis says Jamie Ness has been signed as a midfielder.

The Scot featured at left-back in defeat to Columbus Crew this week.

"He's a midfield player more than anything else," Pulis told The Sentinel. "He needs to get stronger, but he's got quality, played a couple of great passes and kept the ball well."
