Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has revealed their deadline day deal for Jermaine Pennant was no rush job.

Pennant has signed on a four month loan from Real Zaragoza.

Pulis told givemefootball.com: "We spoke right at the start of pre-season to find out what the situation was it was too difficult a deal then to do. As we got closer to the deadline the deal got more viable to us as a football club and we're very pleased."
