Stoke City boss Tony Pulis says Liam Lawrence has proved a great buy.

Lawrence grabbed the winner against Blackburn on Saturday and Pulis said: "It's about time Liam popped up with a goal. I was delighted to see it scrape across the line and then we saw out the game.

"He's been a great signing for us for £500,000 - for his effort and commitment, but he's got good quality as well."
