Stoke boss Pulis almost hooked matchwinner Fuller

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis admits he was ready to hook Ricardo Fuller just before he netted the winner in yesterdays 1-0 win over Portsmouth.

Pulis says he was happy he had a last-second change of thought.

"I'm really delighted I didn't," he said. "He looked nervous two weeks ago against Hull and he looked nervous today and I think not scoring a goal has made him a little bit edgy.

"He is a very confident lad and he breeds off his confidence so that will give him a great lift and I'm absolutely delighted with him."
