Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is seeking to add to his defensive options this summer.
He admitted a new centre-half was high on the agenda this summer as competition for Ryan Shawcross and Robert Huth.
Pulis told The Sentinel: "With Abdoulaye Faye leaving and with Danny Higginbotham having an Achilles tendon injury, we are massively short of cover all of a sudden.
"Whether the new player is experienced or youthful isn't too important, as long as he is good enough."
