Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says his sacking by QPR still burns.

Hughes takes Stoke to Liverpool tonight.

He said: “I was damaged by what happened at QPR.

“Listen, I've just notched up 400 PL games and I was sacked after 12 games there so perhaps that puts it in perspective.

“This club has been perfect. I'm at a good club with great ownership that allows me to do my job. They support me as well as they can.

“I feel I deserved the opportunity and I like to think I've justified it."
