Stoke City boss Mark Hughes aims to spend big this summer.

And that could mean smashing the £12m record set when Peter Crouch signed almost four years ago.

"We will try to strengthen in the summer, that's a given," Hughes said.

"We are probably the lowest spenders in the Premier League, certainly in the windows I've been involved in.

"I've always been of the view that if there's a player to increase the opportunity to win Premier League games, you pursue them as far as you can."
