Stoke boss Mark Hughes says talks with West Brom to sign Saido Berahino have reached an impasse.
Hughes explained that the two parties have so far been unable to agree a transfer fee and he does not expect movement in the near future.
"It sways from one end of the scale to the other. I said a fortnight ago I was more confident that something might be done. It's fair to say it's probably swung the other way again.
"It is down to price, among other things. Over the last few days it hasn't really progressed. There hasn't been any progress for quite some time, and if I'm honest it doesn't look like there will be too much progress in the days to come.
"I might be wrong, because things can change very, very quickly, but people seem very entrenched in their views and their positions, and when that happens it can be very difficult to move it forward."
