Stoke City boss Mark Hughes insists Wolfsburg's 33 year-old striker Ivica Olic has plenty to offer.
Hughes says Olic's age is not a big issue, while insisting the pedigree of the former Bayern Munich striker will be a huge asset for his dressing room.
"He's someone we are interested in, but the top and bottom of it is that it will be the player's decision," said Hughes.
"He's got a lot of options and we are just one of them. But we've made our intentions known, we'd like to make it happen if we can.
"Having watched him perform over the years and then gone up against him with teams I've been managing, I've always been impressed with his energy, his enthusiasm and his technical ability.
"He's played at top clubs throughout Europe and you don't do that being a poor player.
"He's a very fit guy. It's fair to say he won't be playing like he was at 21, but who is?"
