Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is delighted with the early impact of Kurt Zouma.
The on-loan Chelsea defender impressed in victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
Asked about how he landed the Frenchman, Hughes told SFR Sport: "How did I convince him to come? I met Kurt several years ago when he was in Saint-Etienne. I had tried to recruit him for the Queens Park Rangers. This did not happen and it was surely better for Kurt's career.
"When I learned that we had the opportunity to have him on loan, I remembered that of course. He also remembered that, and I think that may have influenced his decision. We could give Kurt Zouma what he wanted. And what he needed was to play every weekend.
"After a big injury like the one he suffered, he needed time to play. I'm glad he decided to join us."
